Choosing an engagement ring is a personal decision that should come naturally. Each engagement ring is unique. You may decide to choose a round diamond, a pear cut, or possibly an emerald cut diamond as the center for your setting. Each ring will have a character and feel to it that should suit you, your fiance, and reflect your relationship.
Know the Rules Before you Buy!

When you’re headed out to buy an engagement ring or wedding rings, you’ll really need to know the rules so you get the most for your money. You also want to make sure that you’re happy with the rings that you’re getting, because they will be one of the most important pieces of jewelry that you’ll ever buy.
You need to narrow your choices down before you do any serious shopping or you could spend hours roaming aimlessly through stores, not sure of what you want and need to get in a ring. You can save yourself a lot of time and effort beforehand by doing two things: narrowing down your choices and setting a budget that you agree to stick to. Once you know what kinds of wedding bands you want, you’ll know what kind of budget is realistic for them. Make sure you start shopping at least a couple of months beforehand, too, so you have a chance to find what you need.
Be practical, think about whether you still want to wear that same ring in twenty years, and get something of quality that won’t fall apart in a few years time.
