Choose an Engagement Ring that is Right for You

Choosing an engagement ring is a personal decision that should come naturally. Each engagement ring is unique. You may decide to choose a round diamond, a pear cut, or possibly an emerald cut diamond as the center for your setting. Each ring will have a character and feel to it that should suit you, your fiance, and reflect your relationship.

Choose a Short or Fat Oval Shape Diamond

If you’re looking for an oval shape diamond you might want to choose a fat one. That might sound a bit silly, but these diamonds usually look better, are more stable, and catch the light better.

Longer ovals can get too small on the ends and they can break. There is also the possibility that they will come loose from their settings more easily because they cannot be anchored as well when they are smaller on the ends. The shorter, fatter ovals are much safer when it comes to remaining in their settings and most people also think that they look better than the thinner ovals.

It also depends, however, on what type of setting the oval is placed in and where it is going to be worn. Earrings are a popular choice for these ovals and they also go well in necklaces. They can be used for rings as well, but they are not as common that way because the oval cut does not enjoy as much popularity for things like engagement rings.
