Choosing an engagement ring is a personal decision that should come naturally. Each engagement ring is unique. You may decide to choose a round diamond, a pear cut, or possibly an emerald cut diamond as the center for your setting. Each ring will have a character and feel to it that should suit you, your fiance, and reflect your relationship.
Whether you think a platinum engagement ring is worth the price often depends on what you’re really looking for in a ring. Some people like yellow gold, which is pretty traditional, and that’s all that they would ever buy. Other people like white gold or platinum, both of which look very similar to one another.
If platinum is something that you think you might want in an engagement ring you can expect to pay more than you would for gold. Platinum, however, also holds up very well and is extremely durable. It resists scratches and other damage with minimal care and is difficult to damage. That makes it a great choice for rings.
You might also want to consider what profession you are in and how much the ring will be worn. Some women are simply harder on their rings than others, and if they do not wish to take their rings off for rigorous or dirty activities it might be best to choose platinum to prevent damage. However, the bottom line is that the ring should be what the couple really wants, regardless of what it’s made from.
